Strong's Hebrew Dictionary pg. 8
119. 'adam; to show blood (in the face), i.e. flush or turn
rosy; - be (dyed, made) red (ruddy).
120. 'adam; ruddy, i.e. a human being (an individual or the
species, mankind, etc.) - x another, + hypocrite, + common sort, x low,
man (mean, of low degree), person.
121. 'Adam; the same as 120; Adam , the name of the
first man, also a place in Palestine: Adam.
Creation of [low, primitive] mankind
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man [120. 'adam]
in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created
he them."
Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man [120.
'adam] of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life; and man [120. 'adam] became a living soul.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and
there he put the man [120. 'adam naked primitive workers]
whom he had formed." |
Genesis 3:16 "Unto the woman [God] said, --in sorrow shalt
thou bring forth children --" 17 "And unto Adam
[121. A person named 'Adam] he said -- cursed is the
ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of your
life; -- thou shalt eat the herb of the field. 19 "In
the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground;
for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou
return."
Genesis 4:1"And Adam [120. 'adam the first
ruddy primitive men] knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain,
and said, I have gotten a [mighty, important] man from the
Lord. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was
a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground."
These two boys, Cain and Abel, are a creation of Hebrew scribes intent
on explaining good and evil and murder and warfare on the basis of the age-old
animosity between farmers and shepherds..........
And between vegetarians and meat-eaters.
25 Adam [120. 'adam the same primitive man, or another
in his "family"] knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and
called his name Seth; for God, said she, hath appointed me another seed
instead of Abel, which Cain slew."
Here is the only place where there is momentary overlap between primitive
"Adam" [the race] and a man named Adam that lived, according to
the Bible, for 930 years.
And became, we can assume if we wish to, the father of the present
human race we see today. |
Primitive [Stone-age] mankind was naked, and not ashamed of nakedness
Genesis 2:22 "And the rib, which the Lord God had taken
from man [120. 'adam], made he a woman, and brought her unto
the man [120. 'adam]. -- 25 And they were both
naked, the man [120. 'adam] and his wife, and were not ashamed."
Some primitive workers in Eden, [the home of the Elohim] were evicted
for not obeying the rules of Eden -
Genesis 3:23 "Therefore the Lord God sent him forth
from the Garden of Eden, to till the ground from wence he was taken. 24
So he drove out the man [120. 'adam one of the primitive
workers]; and he placed at the east of the Garden of Eden Cherubims and
a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
Genesis 5:1"This is the book of the generations
of Adam [121. A person named 'Adam].
In the day that God created man [120. primitive ruddy naked
'adam] , in the likeness of God made he him.
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called
their name Adam [120. 'adam, primitive, ruddy, naked mankind],
in the day when they [primitive mankind, male and female]
were created.
3 And Adam [121. A person named 'Adam]
lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness,
after his image; and called his name Seth:
This "Adam" and his son named "Seth" may have
lived thousands of years, or a million years, after the first primitive
"Adam family" was created, or came into existence.
4 And the days of Adam [121. This person named 'Adam]
after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and
daughters.
5 And all the days that Adam [120. The long-lived,
important person who wore clothing named 'Adam] lived were
nine hundred and thirty years, and he died." |
