Sermon of 9-17-2011

Mark 14:54 "And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. 66 And as Peter was beneath the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.  68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest.
Mark 14:68b "---And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.  69 And the maid saw him again, and began to say unto them that stood by, This is one of them.

70 And he denied it again.  And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto."

71 "But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom you speak.  72 And the second time  the cock crew.  And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.  And when he thought thereon, he wept."

How we can be certain that Peter did not here "CURSE and SWEAR" as we might assume.

Pastor Bryan Aarborg

in his sermon for September 17, 2011, mentioned the general belief by Bible critics and professors of religion at our universities, that Mark is thought by these "experts" to be the first Gospel written. What he didn't mention was these same people assume that Matthew and Luke copied from Mark, who gained his original stories from Peter while Peter was later living in Babylon.  He also mentioned that some of these Gospel writers sound like they expected Jesus to "return" in their lifetime.  So here's the theory -- Mark was first, Matthew copied from Mark, and Luke copied from them both.  And John? John is so different than the other three that these experts assume that someone named John in Ephesus stole or somehow obtained notes an elderly John who actually knew Jesus had written as a young man.

On my previous page, I demonstrated that Mark is the only Gospel that claims Peter denied Jesus three times before the cock crowed twice, and actually includes the dialog during the trial when these denials occurred.  And the two times the cock crowed.  So there it is as plain as day in Mark, but not Matthew, Luke, or John.   Jesus first tells Peter he will do this (2 cock crowings, 3 denials) then Peter does this (2 cock crowings, 3 denials).  Then Peter remembers what Jesus said (2 cock crowings, 3 denials) and wept.   In all the others the 3 denials are the same, but there's only one cock crowing.

So here's my question to my great fellow scholars with your PhDs, etc. --- If they all copied from Mark, how come they copied so badly?  Odds are at least one of them would get it right and back up that there were two cock crowings instead of one on this particular night.

Barbara Thiering PhD gives us the right answer, but most of these scholars scoff at Barbara Thiering.   Because a real human historical Jesus is not in their prescribed agenda, and they wish to preserve their paychecks!

It turns out that the real reason that these same scholars want to assign late dates to all these Gospels except Mark, is Jesus' prophecy that the Jerusalem temple would be destroyed -- in a prophecy made in 33 AD or before.  This happened in 70 AD, almost 40 years later. So according to these critical scholars, trained to see Jesus as an uneducated carpenter's son who could barely read and write, these gospel writers must have written this prophecy in around 70 AD, after this destruction had happened.  Another problem crops up here. Mark includes this same prophecy in Mark 13.

Mark 13:1, 2 "And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here;  And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings?  There shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

Barbara Thiering PhD sees no reason to deny that the gospels were written by one person each (or in the case of "John" perhaps two (John Mark and Phillip), and only a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus.  I'm with her!

So I'm with the 2 cock-crowings crowd.   For a very good reason.   I was a part of both the "Rapture 88" and "Elijah Revival" groups, and can now clearly see the message of the 4th, 5th, and 6th angel (my angel) of Rev. chapter 14.  and the "midnight" and "2 cock-rowing" comings of Jesus in 1945, 1988, and 1993-1994.

Mark 13:32-37

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man,

no, not the angels which are in heaven,

neither the Son, but the Father.

    Take ye heed, watch and pray;

for ye know not when the time is.

For the Son of man is as a man

             making a far journey,

                    who left his house,

And gave authority to his servants,

and to every man his work,

and commanded the porter to watch.

WATCH ye therefore: for ye know not

when the master of the house cometh,

at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing,

(which occurred twice), oor in the morning:

Less coming SUDDENLY he find you sleeping.

And what I say unto you

              I say unto all,  WATCH!"

We are all time-travelers, every one of us.      But without very special equipment, that mankind does not yet have ---      We can travel only one  way, forward slowly.
The Elohim gods (Anunaki) are thousands of years ahead of us, technically, and, developed rockets, satellites, atomic power, and Yes, time-travel thousands of years years ago.     One of the Elohim (Lord Shiva) assigned this earth, decided to give his adopted human son Jesus, an opportunity few other humans have had.
An opportunity to travel both forward and back in time!

Jesus Christ

was indeed a time-traveler!

Mark 13:34-36 is one of several texts that show this to be true.

Jesus' TIME TRAVEL Trip

Mark 13:34 "For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey (through time into the mid-19th century), who left his (astrological) house, and gave authority to his servants (the Christian Church), and to every man
his work, and commanded the porter (the ministers, would-be prophets, authors of prophetic books, Wm. Miller, Hal Lindsay,  Harold Camping, etc) to watch."

36 "Less coming suddenly, he find you sleeping."

Having seen by reviewing both Matthew's version of Jesus' prediction that the Jerusalem temple would be completely destroyed and Mark's version, that they both start out with the same prediction, we're not done yet with our comparison.

Matthew's version of the prophecy is much longer, and contains other prophecies that Mark left out that sequencially belong to the time period covered by the two cock-crowings of Mark 13:35.   So we don't get the complete prophecy in Mark, but must turn to the other Gospels to find other details.   One cannot do this repeatedly, and find it to be true over and over again without discovering that these Gospel writers are not semi-anonymous writers living far apart making up stories from the "lost gospel of Q" as many assert.   But instead, as Barbara Thiering has discovered, Jesus' Essene associates conspiring together to preserve their real history in a world that loves myths and changes things to suit our fancies and provide us with magical fixes, and eternal life and unlimited power for our religious sect.  And eternal damnation for all other religious sects.

The Essene writers, with Jesus as their editor-in-chief knew that these stories and prophecies would not be preserved without significant alterations without some type of reward being promised to those responsible for keeping them intact.  Each generation must believe the promises were for them, and those who  attempted to change them would  "rot in hell".   It was good reasoning, and effective.  We have these prophecies with every minute detail preserved, even those details we don't like, because the Essenes were more clever than we are, and more devious.  The "curse" that largely provided protection from changes by the superstitious monks of the Middle Ages reads as follows:

Revelation 22:18,19

(The Curse)

"For I (Jesus, the Alpha and Omega) testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."   To the superstitious and fearful this means ---

Bible Students who are especially interested in Prophecy, and who use Bible Texts to predict the Future, are cautioned to pay as much attention to small as well as larger differences between those series of verses and sometimes whole chapters that seem to be in the Bible for their use. They can "thank" the above-cited "curse" for the observable accuracy of small differences, when texts are compared side-by-side as we shall do now with Mark 13 as compared with Matthew 24.  There can be NO DOUBT that they cover the same period of time.  Even the most critical will admit that.  The small differences can have great consequences when properly interpreted.  We have already observed that the author of Mark insists there were two "cock-crowings" on the night Jesus was tried before Caiaphas, which allowed Dr. Barbara Thiering PhD to date this event to March 21, 33 AD because she is a careful student of Essene calendars and time-keeping practices.  But even more important to this present study, it allows us to both identify, and date, the 5th and 6th "angels" (or 2d comings) of Revelation chapter 14.

This identifying of the last three of six angels in Revelation chapter 14 need have no consequence, and indeed has no importance to those whose identity and happiness and perceived importance depends almost entirely on believing there are only three angels, and that their group or sect represents these three angels.   Another case of "ignorance is bliss".   Such should not, however, find fault with Southern Baptists for ignoring scriptures about pork-eating and the Seventh-day Sabbath, or with Pentecostals for "shaking" when they feel the Holy Spirit or speaking in "tongues" that sound faked to their more sedate Christian "brothers".

In the very first verses of Mark 13 and Matthew 24 we note, by reading carefully, that Mark says only one disciple showed Jesus the large stones while Matthew  24 says "his disciples" (supposedly ALL of them) did this.  This is NOT a mistake, the proper pronoun, "he" is still used in Matthew's account.   Information is being conveyed here.  There was indeed one disciple, John Mark, who was called by the nickname "his disciples" because it was his job or position to carry messages to the other disciples and write down accurately, word-for-word, what Jesus said.   In their persistent habit of "getting it wrong", modern critical scholars cannot find John Mark, but here he is as "his disciples" writing out Jesus' prophecy of Matthew 24 so accurately that we can watch it being fulfilled in the 19th and 20th centuries.

We'll have a few more nice words to say about modern critical scholars at the end of this page.

Mark 13

Matthew 24

1,2 "And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!  And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 1,2 "And Jesus  went out, and departed from the temple: and  his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.  And Jesus  said unto him, (John Mark, "his disciples") Seest ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
10 "And the gospel must first be published among all nations..

13 "And ye shall be hated of all men for my names's sake: but he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved.

NOTE THAT HERE IN MARK THE GOSPEL TEXT IS FIRST, BEFORE THE "HATED OF ALL NATIONS" TEXT.

9.Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.  13 But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.

14 "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation - 18-pray that your flight be not in the winter.  NOTE THAT "ON THE SABBATH DAY" IS MISSING HERE. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination -- 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
19 "For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. 20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days." 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there shall no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
24 'But in those days after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."
26 "And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of the heaven." 30 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  31 "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds,  from one end of heaven to the other.

LET ME HERE PAUSE:

AND POINT OUT FOUR OBSERVATIONS:

THE FIRST IS: The Effect: in my case, (and perhaps in yours), is that Mark, by omitting something that appears to be new and different in Matthew, has emphasized this item!   My curiosity is stimulated, and I try to discover why.   Such was the case with the "one disciple"--"his desciples" of verse 1.   And of changing the order of the "gospel" text. And leaving out the "neither on the sabbath day" of Matthew 24:20.

THE SECOND IS: Mark's observations, almost a sermonette, of verses 9-11, with the "gospel" text verse 10 sandwiched in the middle.  Which reads in full-- "But watch out for YOURSELVES, for they will deliver YOU up to the councils, and ye shall be beaten in the synagogues.  YOU will be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony for them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest YOU and deliver YOU up, do not WORRY before hand, or premeditate what YOU will speak.  But whatever is given YOU IN THAT HOUR, speak that: for it is not YOU who speak, but the Holy Spirit."  Such a series of seven (7) YOU's in such a short span of words seems highly unusual -- and -- the entire "sermonette" appears to be missing from the Matthew 24 discourse!

THE THIRD IS: Until yesterday, 9-25-2011, I assumed that the "voice of God" that I had found previously in Isaiah 66:6 and in Ellen White's 1844 vision was MISSING in both Mark 13 and Matthew 24, but suddenly here it is in a slightly different form in Matthew 24:31 as "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,--", and as before, Mark draws attention to it by OMITTING IT.  Now it jumps out at me, as if to illustrate Mark 13:9-11 with it's seven (7) YOU's and its promise that the Holy Spirit will cause me to speak what I really had no way of knowing!

THE FOURTH IS: Mark 13:9-11 seems to be as much a promised BLESSING to someone willing to speak out "hidden truths" revealed by these little-noticed details as Revelation 22:18,19 appears to be a curse on anyone who attempts to change (or perhaps hide or cover up?) these details!

APOCALYPTIC EXAGGERATIONS and ESSENE-SPEAK! (VOCABULARY)

  Isaiah 66

6 "A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies. 18--I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory."

Matthew 24

31 "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds,  from one end of heaven to the other.

Mark 13

27 "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of the heaven."

The question all along has not been "When will the WORLD end?", but "When will the AGE end?"  And GOD, like everyone else watching world events from a safer distance than we do, knew when the AGE ended.   It ended on August 6, 1945 at 8:16 AM when an atomic bomb was exploded over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

The explosion of this bomb made a SOUND, and to the prophetic Essenes writing both Isaiah 66:6 and prompting Ellen G. White in her book Early Writings (page 15 and 285) that sound was the "Voice of God". Before the atomic device was detonated no one knew the hour and the minute, but some may have known the day.

     Isaiah 66:6 (interestingly, there's that number -- 666)

"A voice of noise from the city (Hiroshima), a voice from the temple (the atom, the "temple" of the Creator-God), a voice of the Lord (YHWH, God of the Jews) that rendereth recompence to his enemies (Japan as the wartime partner of the Nazis who were exterminating all the Jews of the world.)

Early Writings (page 15) "Soon we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave the day and the hour (Aug. 6, 1945 at 8:16 AM) of Jesus' coming.  The living saints (Jews that survived the Jewish holocaust), 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice (deliverance from total annihilation), while the wicked (including, sad to say -- Seventh-day Adventists) thought it was thunder and an earthquake (symbolic of the Atomic Bomb)."

Here Ellen White has given us the major clues to the overall meaning of Mark 13:32-37 that the "Second Coming" was to save the Jews from extinction, and that the "Day and Hour" that this WAS (not is to be) accomplished was when the "voice of God" -- the "thunder and earthquake" of the Atomic Bomb accomplished this goal --- August 6, 1945, at 8:16 AM.  That's one of 4 "Second Comings", and it turns out it was the second of the 4.   Ellen White gives us the clue to this also, on page 285.

"It was at midnight that God chose to deliver His people.  As the wicked were mocking around them (anti-Semitism), suddenly the sun appeared (again the Atomic explosion), shining in his strength, and the moon stood still.  (A few years later, a moment in prophetic time, men were walking on the moon  -- so symbolically it "stood still"). The wicked looked upon the scene  with amazement, while the saints (the Jews, now returning to Israel in the 1960s) beheld with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance.  etc.)

NOW BACK TO OUR COMPARISON

BETWEEN MARK 13 AND MATTHEW 24

Mark 13

28 "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near.  29 "So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

30 "Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

31 "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Matthew 24

32 "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13

32 "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33 "Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

34 "For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch."

35 "Watch ye therefore:

for ye know not when the master of the

house cometh,

at even

or at midnight,

or at the cockcrowing,

or in the morning.

36 "Lest coming suddenly he find you

 sleeping.

37 "And what I say unto you I say unto all,

Watch."

Matthew 24

36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

37 "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  38 "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark.  39 "And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

40 "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.  41 "Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

42 "Watch therefore: for ye know not the hour your Lord doth come."

43 " But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up--etc.

50 "The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: ---"

A cursory comparison of these two obviously different endings seems to support the modern critics published opinions that these gospels were published decades after Jesus' crucifixion by people with little or no knowledge of who he was or what he taught.  But a closer look shows that they are more similar than some have thought.

The story of Noah seems to illustrate  that no man knoweth the day nor the hour of Christ's coming, until one reads the original Sumerian story and discovers that both Lord Ea (Enki) and Utnapishtim (Noah) did know that Noah had only a week to build the ark (and that this was estimated quite accurately).

Matt. 24:42 Mentions uses the phrase "the hour your Lord doth come" and "Watch" while Mark 13:35 actually lists the important watches during the night used by the Essenes -- the "evening" watch (6 pm), the "midnight" watch (midnight), the "cockcrowing" watch (3 am), and the "morning" watch (6 am).

Matt. 24:43 is actually about the "watchs" also, watches that the goodman of the house should have been doing properly when his "house" was broken up.

Matt. 24:50 predicts a bad ending for the one who was sleeping when he should have been watching --- so, in summary -- every verse of the endings of both these chapters is on the same subject.
