is used to describe not physical distance, they were only a few feet
from each other, but political difference, which becomes evident as
the story progresses )- "even into the palace of the high priest:
(it is here the purpose of the writer to hide the actual location of
this trial, which was held at the Qumran monastery. The Qumran
monastery, by exaggeration
and ESSENE-SPEAK,
could be called "the palace of the high priest because both
Annas and Caiaphas were Essenes, and the priestly Essenes totally
controlled the monastery) ---. |

"servants" in the usual sense of that word, but other
Essenes. The Essenes were all equal, no one owning more than
anyone else. Each, however had an assigned "job" at
any particular time. Peter's "job" that night was to

"--and warmed himself at the
fire.

the monastery, where a fireplace provided warmth to various persons

palace, (here the "palace"
is re-defined as a slightly raised portion of the Qumran monastery
entrance where the trial of Jesus by the Essene high priest was actually
going on, in plain sight of Peter and only a few feet away).
"--there cometh one of the maids of
the
high priest: (as the one who
controlled the Essene monastery, the high priest who was trying Jesus
could be called the "employer" of this "maid", whose
"job" that night was door-keeper. To keep out all those
not allowed into the monastery. This is reflected in her
conversations with Peter regarding his "identity"). 67 "And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked
upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. (All
this means is that he had a right to be there. Indeed as the one
scheduled to pray next at this assigned spot, he MUST be there, it was his
"job" to be there.)
68 "But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou
sayest. (Both were doing their
assigned jobs, and there was no problem -- and each knew the other.
This is a "filler" dialog, to make us think otherwise -- and
thus it really says nothing.) Mark 14:68b "---And he
went out into
the porch;"
(the "porch" then and now, is an area outside a building, but
not really a part of it -- further identifying where Peter was standing
near the door to the Qumran monastery.) "and the
cock crew.
(it was 3 AM). 69 "And the maid
saw him again, (sure she did, she was still the door-keeper)
"-- and began to say unto them that stood by, This is one
of them." (she "said" this by her actions. If
he had no business here at the trial, it was her job to expel him.
But she didn't, because he was praying as he was supposed to be praying.)
70 And he
denied it again.(Here
he denied Jesus politically by praying while facing towards Jerusalem and
not towards Rome (westward). He assumed that Jesus would be found
guilty and be replaced as "Messiah" by one more sympathetic to a
Jewish nationalistic (Zealot) agenda.) "And a
little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou
art one of them: for thou art
a
Galilean, and thy speech agreeth
thereto."(Galileans spoke a different dialect, and kept some
religious rules differently than Judeans). 71 "But he began to
curse and to swear, (the
particular part of the prayer that Peter was saying at this particular
hour was an actual "curse" against those who refused to obey
Essene regulations, and acknowledge their beliefs as the absolute
"Truth". Peter, of course, could not change this specific
"curse", it was part of the required prayer, and others were
listening, and knew these words. "--saying, I know not this man of whom you
speak. (by praying towards Jerusalem, not Rome, and repeating
the required prayer, Peter had, in effect, and without really thinking
about it -- "Denied Christ". 72 And the second
time the cock crew.
And
Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the
cock crow twice,
thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he
wept."(It was on this particular night that a time
adjustment was scheduled so it was 3 AM not
just once but twice. Which to the Essenes identified that night
exactly as Thursday night (early Friday morning) March
20, 33 AD.
