Enoch, who even in the Bible, did not die -- but

became an  Astronaut!

The Bible Story of ENOCH is told in Genesis in only a few verses as part of a GENEALOGY given us of many Antidiluvian (Pre-Flood) patriarchs descended from the Biblical Adam.

There are two ENOCHs in this Pre-Flood lineup -- the one we are concerned with here was the son of JARED and grandfather of NOAH,

Genesis 5:18 "And JARED lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat ENOCH:

19 "And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:  20 "and all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.

21"And ENOCH lived sixty and five years, and begat Methusalah: --

22 "And ENOCH walked with God after he begat Mathusalah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

23 "And all the days of ENOCH were three hundred sixty and five years:

24 "And ENOCH walked with God: and he was not, for GOD TOOK HIM."

THE STORY OF ENOCH (THE ASTRONAUT) IS AN IMPORTANT STORY AND VARIES IN MANY DETAILS ACCORDING TO WHO IS TELLING IT -- SO I'LL GIVE IT ON FIVE DIFFERENT WEB PAGES --I'D ADVISE YOU TO READ THEM ALL TO GET A FULLER PICTURE.

Enkime (Enoch) the Man

Who Rode the Heavens Forever!

As children, those of us who attended parochial schools learned of Enoch, the "seventh from Adam", who "walked with God and was not for God took him."  (Genesis 5:24).  This is one of a limited number of subjects in which the New Testament perfectly agrees with the Old Testament, and Hebrews 11:5 makes certain that no one can explain away God "taking" Enoch as an unexplained disappearance or early death.  The author of Hebrews makes himself perfectly clear.  "By faith Enoch was translatied that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

A very interesting thing appears to have happened to two major books credited to Enoch that were being circulated in the days of Jesus, Peter, Paul, and Jesus' brother Jude.  These four all quoted from "Enoch" with almost half of Jude a direct quotation from the man God translated to heaven.

The early church fathers had problems with Enoch's named angels, his not blaming Eve for the sins of mankind, and his stories of angels cohabiting with human women.  So by the time of Eusebius, the books were no longer being copied and circulated.

The "Books of Enoch" go far beyond the short summary given in Genesis 5:18-24 "And Jared lived an hundred and sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:  And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:  And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.   And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methusalah;  And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methusaleh three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:  And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty and five years:  And Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him."

In the "Books of Enoch", Enoch himself tells his own story, with times, places, and what he saw on both heaven and earth.  What it was like when he ascended to heaven --

And  what it was like to watch the judgment of the angels that sinned with human women --

And even what it was like to be called up to the very throne of Almighty God himself to discuss with God how these angels should be punished for their sins!

Zecharia Sitchin, in "The Lost Book of Enki" identifies "Enoch" as Enkime, a descendent of Adama, the first Civilized Man, and biological son of Enki and an Earling woman Enki met on a riverbank not far from Enki's city Eridu in E.DIN.    We read on page 189: "At a well in the meadows did Irid  (Jared) his spouse meet;   Baraka was her name, the daughter of his mother's brother she was.  At the conclusion of the hundred and second Shar a son to them was born,  By the name Enki-ME.   Understanding, in the annals he was called.   Wise and intelligent he was, numbers he quickly understood,   About the heavens and all matters celestial he was constantly curious."

"To him the lord Enki took a liking, secrets once to Adapa revealed to him he told.   Of  the family of the Sun and the twelve celestial gods Enki him was teaching.  And how the months by the Moon were counted and the years by the Sun,  And how by Nibiru the Shars were counted, and how the counts by Enki were combined,  How the lord Enki the circle of the heavens to twelve parts divided,  A constellation to each one how Enki assigned, twelve stations in a grand circle he arranged,  How to honor the twelve Anunnaki great leaders by names the stations were called."

"To explore the heavens Enkime was eager; two celestial journeys he did make.   And this is the account of Enkime's journeys to the heavens,  And how the Igigi troubles and intermarriages by Marduk were started.   To be with Marduk in the Landing Place Enkime was sent,   From there Marduk in a rocketship to the Moon did him take."

"There what Marduk from his father Enki had learned to Enkime he did teach.   When to Earth Enkime returned, to be with Utu in Sipper, the Place of the Chariots, he was sent.   There a tablet for writing what he was learning by Utu to Enkime was given,   Utu in his bright abode a Prince of Earthlings him installed.   The rites him he taught, the functions of priesthood to begin."

"In Sipper with his spouse Edinni, (Edna) a half sister, Enkime resided,   To him in the one hundred and fourth Shar a son was born, (By then Enkime was at least 3600 years old, maybe 4600) Matushal his mother him named,  Who by the Bright Waters Raised the name meant.   It was after that that Enkime on his second journey to the heavens went,   This time too Marduk was his mentor and companion.   In a celestial chariot heavenward they soured, toward the Sun and away from it they circled.   To visit the Igigi on Lahmu by Marduk he was taken,   To him the Igigi a liking took, of Civilized Earthlings from him they learned.  Of him it is in the Annals said that to the heavens he departed,    That in the heavens he stayed till the end of his days."

This picture shows one of our current space shuttles docked at our own space  station.  It is quite possible Enkime (Enoch) lived for many thousands of years  at such a space station, treated as an equal by the "Heavenly Astronauts".

"Before Enkime for the heavens departed, all that is in the heavens he was taught.   In writings Enkime a record made, for his sons to know he wrote it;   All that is in the heavens in the family of the Sun he wrote down,  And about the quarters of the Earth and its lands and its rivers too.   To the hands of Matushal, his firstborn son, the writings he entrusted,  With his brothers Ragim and Gaidad to study and abide by."

It is my goal in this series of pages not to prove the Bible  "wrong" but to fill in some details that the Bible's authors  left out because they judged them unsuitable for those they saw as their target congregation or audience  -- and to re-interpret some symbolism and parables for  a more modern and better educated group of readers.
