| Hurricane Hugo struck North Carolina at Charleston almost a year after Hurricane Gilbert. The storm that is presented in the above pictured book. | Featured in "Moses and Elijah" was Hurricane Gilbert, the 7th tropical storm of 1988, which occurred exactly at the time the Rapture was expected! |
| A main supporter of the "Rapture 88" religious group [Pentecostal] was Jerry McLamb, who had earlier had a close encounter with a UFO [Flying Saucer] at the Erwin water tower pictured at top right of the above page of my book. | After Hurrican Gilbert had devastated Jamaica on the exact date the Rapture was predicted by the Rapture 88 group, I wrote this book about this "coincidence", and that Gilbert was the 7th tropical storm. |
I was working in the Good Hope Hospital in Erwin as an Emergency Room Physician during this "Rapture 88" period, and paid for a number of newspaper ads, like the one above. The revised prediction: Something of major importance would occur in 1989, "an hour, a day, a month, and a year" [Rev. 9:15] after Gilbert. |
With my upbringing since childhood as an Adventist, and the added furor of the Rapture 88 group, it seemed to me that the Battle of Armageddon must be the next prophetic item on the Heavenly Agenda. So I wrote and promoted this little leaflet proposing that perhaps this would be what would occur at the end of "an hour, a day, a month, and a year". |
