Isaiah's Pig Parable

Isaiah lived a thousand years before Jesus, but was

quoted by Jesus more than once.

Even if we admit that more than one person wrote

"Isaiah", we can assume that this "Parable" was

the "first" in the series....

 Isaiah 66:1-3.."Thus

saith the Lord, The

heaven is my throne,

and the earth is my

footstool: where is

the house that ye ye

build unto me? and

where is the place of

my rest?

 Here Isaiah, or who-

ever of Isaiah's discip-

les or later admirers is

here writing in his

name, is criticizing the

organized RELIGION

of his day, who felt a

TEMPLE was neces-

sary to worship God.

 2 For all those things

hath mine hand made

and all those things

have been, saith the

Lord: but to this man

will I look, even to

him that is POOR

and of a contrite spir-

it, and trembleth at

my WORD.

 TheCREATOR God,

supposedly the object

of Jewish worship,

needs no temple...And

is looking for a certain

type of worshipper...

In terms later used by

the ESSENESfor their

own group.."Poor in

Spirit" and"the Word"

 Isaiah here begins a

In Maccabee times,

about 150 BCE, Jews

died rather than eat

PORK or offer swine

on their altars!
