THE WORLD'S GREATEST HOLINESS PREACHER!

A New Light Dawns!

,GOD living among MEN!

The Next Picture or Personality of Jesus Christ I'll ask you to consider is a familiar one, perhaps the most familiar of the 6 that I have lined up today. In the  words that I have heard from the mouths of more than one minister of the gospel recently -- "the only real temptation that Jesus experienced as an adult "Messiah" was to use his divine miracle-working powers, powers that he knew he had and could use at any time, for his own benefit.   He could work miracles for others any time he wished to.  But it would be a sin or mistake on his part to use these powers to help himself, or make his own life easier or more pleasant!

6 Commonly Proposed Pictures or Personalities of Jesus Christ

Jesus #1, if he existed at all was a simple man, of little historical consequence. Jesus  #2, is as the Church councils have pictured him, a God who posed as a man Jesus #3, was an Essene, a man who lived a "Perfect" life, that we cannot match.

OUR HIGH PRIEST

      TRULY HUMAN

   BUT WITH TALENT!
Jesus #4, lived a celibate  life, like other Essenes, and Catholic priests and popes. Jesus #5, was our "High Priest" but we cannot possibly live like he lived Jesus #6, was not a high priest, but an occasionally sinful person such as we are.

Dr. Robert F. Holt, MD pictured here with this montage of pictures representing the Dead Sea Scrolls, is obviously biased towards Jesus #3, that Jesus was an Essene, but he'll discuss in 6 pages, of which this is the second, all these viewpoints and conflicting personalities for Jesus.

PRESENTING

JESUS of the Divine Trinity

   In the Jewish World, in which Jesus obviously lived, if we  are to believe the writers of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts, there was only one God that was worshipped, and that was Jehovah or Yahweh, worshipped in the brand-new temple still being renovated by Herod the Great and his sons as Jesus was born and brought up in Bethlehem (nearby) and in Nazareth and Galilee (about 90 miles away).

    That Jesus himself believed in this basic Jewish belief, the basis of three of the ten commandments received by Moses from God Himself (one God, not three) is obvious in Mark 12:29-31 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul; and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  There is none other commandment greater than these." (Compare Matthew 22:37-40) "

    Jesus is made to appear by the writers of the Synoptic Gospels, (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) as a "New Moses" and a "New Elijah", perhaps reincarnated, in every way supporting the Ten Commandments, and indeed adding to them and making them more stringent.

    Matthew 5:21 "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill: and whoesoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:  22 But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."

     "Danger of hell fire" would become the religious motivation of the Dark Ages and Middle Ages in the hands of the representatives of the "Divine Trinity" with Jesus as its central "God" and the major "Executive" of the Three.

Outside of Israel, Samaria, and Galilee, the area where Jesus, according to the Bible Record as normally read, lived out his entire human lifetime, the Greeks, Romans, and other people of the world subject to the Roman Empire and Roman emperors, were not limited to a belief in One God, as were the Jews, and believed in many Gods, with One God, Zeus or Jove, in charge of the others as the Father of the gods.

Besides these Greek and Roman gods there were many in Egypt and elsewhere in the Roman empire that still reverenced the Egyptian "Trinity" of Osiris, Isis, and Horus, ---

--- with the Goddess Isis being very popular throughout the empire, sometimes with other names and personalities, such as Venus, the Goddess of Love.

The Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, who called the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, was an admirer of Egyptian theology, and saw himself as being in the position of Horus, the "living Sun god". Before him Jesus Christ had held the same position.  Now in heaven, Jesus was Osiris, while Constantine and later the popes, ruled on earth.

It should not surprise us that all but one of the Christian Bishops at Nicaea came to view Divine Theology quite similar to the way that Constantine saw it, but with Jesus, his Father the Jewish Yahweh or Jehovah and Isis imagined as being male not female constituting an all-male Trinity, all equal to One God.  Bishop Arius, actually from the Middle East, saw this as blasphemy and heresy, voted "No" and was banished to Africa stripped of all his Ecclesiastical titles and power.   The "New Theology" of 325 to 400 AD incorporated all the Pagan traditions of any importance!

 Constantine's Christian Bishops

had little difficulty finding the proper Biblical texts, mostly in John's Gospel, to support theologically Constantine's stated goal to make Jesus either equivalent to, or hopefully even far superior to the other gods of the Empire.  And ended up with a Theology supported even today in the 21st century, although not as strong as it was in the Middle Ages under major Roman Catholic control.

     John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word (interpreted to be Jesus Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God (with Himself?) 3 All things were made by him (the "Word" not Jehovah): and without him was not anything made that was made.  4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men."

      John 11:25 "Jesus said unto her (Martha the sister of Mary Magdalene), I AM the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

    26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?  (Martha is ISIS in this exchange.)

      John 3:16 "For God so loved the world (not just Jews), that he (Osiris), gave his only-begotten Son (Sun- Horus), that whosoever believeth in him (the Sun - Horus) should not perish, but have everlasting life (from the everlasting Sun).  17 For God (Osiris) sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world (like Jehovah, the God of Judgment and favoritism towards Israel), but that the (Gentile) world might be SAVED. (As interpreted and taught by Paul).

     Hebrews 1:1 "God, who in sundry times and in divers manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;) 4 Being made much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."

325 AD  Nicaea
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father [the only-begotten; that is, of the essence of the Father, God of God], Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
By whom all things were made [both in heaven and on earth];
Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down and was incarnate and was made man;
He suffered, and the third day he rose again, ascended into heaven;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
And in the Holy Ghost.

   Daniel 7:13 "I saw in the night viusions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.  14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."

Revelation 1:4

  "John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are behold his throne;

    5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.  Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood."

    6 "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him ne glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

    7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.  Even so. Amen."

 How will all this really end?

There's a fairly large group of Revelation readers and interpreters, the Seventh-day Adventists, who interpret Rev. 20:7-9 to mean that after 1000 years in heaven judging the evil deeds of those not in heaven, the saints will watch as resurrected sinners will try to attack and take over heaven with Satan as their leader -- then are finally destroyed.

   Rev. 20:11 ":And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  12 And I saw the dead, small and great stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

    13 "And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

     14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  15 And whatsoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

NEXT PAGE, NEXT "PICTURE":

Jesus Christ #3 was not "God living among men, but an Essene "Holy Man" living much of the time for 3 1/2 years as one of their 2 "Messiahs".
