The Bible makes it clear enough that Sodom and Gomorrah, the "Cities of the Plain", were destroyed because the men in those cities practiced "sodomy", defined as unnatural sexual acts between men and other men. Less clear is whether the women of those cities were engaging in unnatural sexual acts also, but one presumes that with no men to "do it" with, they must have had some outlet for their passion. ...... ....The story unfolds in Genesis 19:1-5 as these lewd men of Sodom called out to Lot [Abraham's nephew] who had angel visitors, "Where are the men which came in unto thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them..." |
| The angels blinded the men of Sodom so they couldn't find the door. Then early next morning they led Lot out of Sodom, then destroyed the city with fire and brimstone from heaven. Lot's daughters later got him drunk, and had sexual intercourse with him [incest is best, I guess!]. Their children populated Moab and Ammon [Israel's periodic enemies]. |  |

No one apparently sees in these two stories an attempt by Jewish priests to edit stories in such a way that their own homophobia is supported, as well as their hate and distrust for the Ammonites and Moabites. And the Catholic Church fathers, many of them "Gay" have found it more useful to support these stories than be critical! |
