ACT 1 continues Scene 9 --- A horseman comes to tell Jesus of Lazarus' sickness, and Jesus goes to him in Bethany. Scene 10 --- A birthday party is going on at Herod's palace. Scene 11 --- Salome dances for Herod on his birthday. This picture was NOT taken at the PASSION PLAY! Scene 12 --- Herod feels remorse as Salome asks him for the head of John the Baptist. Song:Herod's Desire "Desire, like a moth and a flame, Plays its dangerous game. Your attraction's the same for me.
Desire, tell me what shall I do. I've surrendered my soul to you. Desire!
You're a thread that winds Around my helpless heart. You're the chain that binds With links that will never part.
Desire, tell me what shall I do. I've surrendered my soul to you. Desire --- desire --- desire." Herod and Herodius picture from another play. Next to Judas, perhaps, Herod and Herodius were pretty much the VILLAINS of the "WORTHY IS THE LAMB" Passion Play! Scene 13 --- Jesus comes to Bethany, home of Lazarus, to comfort Mary and Martha. Scene 14 --- Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. Song: He is Risen! He is risen! Hallelujah! He is risen triumphant from the dead! He is risen! He is risen! He is risen even as Jesus said!
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for what you have done. Thank you, Lord Jesus, God's only Son. I'll praise you in life as I praised you in death. I'll praise you as long as Thou lendest me breath.
Sing, oh, sing, ye waste places of Jerusalem. Sing, oh, sing, ye waste places of Jerusalem. Sing, oh, sing, ye waste places of Jerusalem. Sing, oh, sing, ye waste places of Jerusalem. Sing, oh, sing! Sing, oh, sing! Sing, oh, sing unto your King! All songs copyright J. T. Adams
