......I have to say or propose until....
I attempt to answer this IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION, so here goes....
God is the reason we are here, you and I....and the reason this COMPUTER is here
before you, with the WORDS appearing on it that you can read and perhaps
God, for reasons we can only guess at, WANTS you to UNDERSTAND, about
Him/Her/It, and about everything ELSE you are able to understand....because as
a human being, "made in the IMAGE of God", you THINK and plan, and do things
at least partly because of what you UNDERSTAND!
What then is this "Image of God?"...."I THINK, therefore I AM"...The ability to
REASON and THINK LOGICALLY is the "Image of God"...The more accurate
translation of "I AM" [the Name God gave to Moses] is "I AM what I am BECOMING"..
and so as we CHANGE for the BETTER we become even more the "Image of God".
As the UNDERSTANDING of human beings has increased, and their capacity to
build things [and destroy things] has increased, so has God allowed them more
information about other beings in the Universe, with which we must LEARN to
interact if we are to progress beyond merely making [and destroying] things here
on earth!....In short, we must show more RESPONSIBILITY than animals do!
An animal does whatever its genes have programmed it to do, plus whatever
else its parents [if it is lucky enough to have parents] taught it to do before
abandoning it to the cold, cruel world, [intentionally or by accident]. ..If it
has good genes and good teaching, it might live long enough to pass these
genes and teachings along to future generations of cats, dogs, lions, chipmunks,
or whatever.....There are millions of people with no more view of the future
than this, and that has been satisfactory to God and others in the Universe up
until the time some of us invented atomic weapons and devices that can invade
space and reach other planets.....Now the "game" has changed!
NOW I am going to irritate a lot of people by saying that the story of Adam and
Eve in the Bible is partly MYTH but supports very TRUTHFUL concepts....and
that this is TRUE of the rest of the Bible as well.....Partly MYTH but still the TRUTH...
Anyone who reads the Bible and really becomes familiar with what it contains will
logically come to the same opinion, unless someone else has been brainwashing them
for power and profit....Usually to the tune of "Heaven or Hell, which will it be for you?"
Notice that the background of this page sort of looks like the flames of hell!....Each of
the thousands of Religions, Denominations, and study groups in this world will firmly
tell you, if you get at all interested in whatever each of them is "peddling" to the public,
that their "straight and narrow way" to heaven is THE ONLY WAY TO GET THERE,
and that all the other "wide roads" LEAD STRAIGHT TO HELL!....Once again, logic
tells us that a whole lot of people here are not thinking logically, in fact are being deluded!
Is the fact that I'm willing to say this outright make me an ATHIEST or a DEVIL-
WORSHIPPER?.....Not really!....If God is a God of Logic, then I am His disciple!
If God is a God of TRUTH, not "delusion", then I am His PROPHET!....If God wants
to SAVE this earth not DESTROY it, then I will HELP Him/Her/It to the best of my
ability, and take whatever boquets or brickbats are cast in my direction...
In my view, all these deluded people out there are the real ATHIESTS, no matter how
pious their behavior and however much they go to church and fatten the pockets of
whoever is feeding their delusions and causing them to be deluded further!....They would
not know the God of TRUTH and LOGIC were they to meet Him/Her/It "face to face"...
They want nothing to do with the great "I AM" and even less to do with the great "I AM
what I am BECOMING.".....And should a chance encounter happen, they would
immediately rush back to the nipple pacifier, security blanket and teddy bear they have
clutched in their mouths and dirty little hands since mother church brought them forth!
The measure of RESPONSIBILITY for humans, and what separates them from animals,
is the TEN COMMANDMENTS....As related in the Bible in Exodus 20, and confirmed
by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount of Matthew 5, 6, and 7....Dogs and cats and some
humans pay little attention to One God, the great "I AM", and don't really see sleeping
around at every opportunity as a "sin" at all....The only thing that will deter a male dog
from attempting to mate with a bitch in heat is another male dog who tears him from limb
to limb! ...And so it goes in Hollywood, the White House, and everywhere!....Lying has
become so prevalent that millions of people can listen to a president arguing about what
"is" means!....And dare a congress doing the same things to try and impeach him! ..And
so on with the rest of those famous "10" rules from Mount Sinai....Again, the circumstances
of this encounter between God and man may be MYTH, but the TRUTH is represented,
anyway....The TRUTH that separates man from animals!
That I am willing to make a statement to the effect that the 10 COMMANDMENTS are
still binding, and may make the difference between surviving in the future, and being
wiped out as a species....makes me, in some people's eyes, NOT A CHRISTIAN!..
Christians believe in FAITH not WORKS...."Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe!" ..But
your minister or priest will collect as much as possible of what you "owe" Jesus!.......
[The One who said, "My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made
it a den of thieves.." Matt. 21:13]...If EVERYONE kept the TEN COMMANDMENTS,
what need would there be for Rabbis, ministers, and priests?
Finally: there is the matter of John 3:16 and 17....Almost everyone knows John 3:16 by
heart [with the possible exception of Al Gore**], but hardly anyone can recite John 3:17
by heart....John 3:16 has been exploited by the religious for 2000 years to promise
INDIVIDUALS ETERNAL LIFE [so long as they do what the priesthood tells
them to] while John 3:17 puts the WORLD before individuals....John 3:17 will be
our focus on this WEB-SITE, and if the WORLD is to survive, for ALL HUMANS
for what remains of human history...
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not PERISH, but have
EVERLASTING LIFE."
John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the WORLD to condemn
the WORLD; but that the WORLD through him might be SAVED."
