UNDER THE
RED SEA

EExodus 14:6 "And he
made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: 7
"And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt,
and captains over every one of them. 8 "---and he pursued after the
children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with an high
hand."
I found Ron
Wyatt's "Crossing Place" and did some Scuba-Diving there myself !

PHARAOH'S
GOLDEN CHARIOT WHEELS |
|
 |
LEFT, Ron Wyatt --
RIGHT, Dr. Robert Holt, MD. A photo Ron took near Nuweiba.
Ron Wyatt didn't believe that the miracle that allowed the Israelites
to escape once Pharaoh and his 600 chariots and their captains caught
up with them with their backs to the sea and no place to escape was on
the Egyptian side of the Gulf of Suez, but at Nuwieba on the Sinai
side of the Gulf of Aquaba. I went there to Nuweiba after
learning to Scuba Dive at the age of 57 years old, and looked for some
of the golden chariot wheels Ron had reported finding there.
I'll give you a complete report on my activities there in 1990 and
1991, but first I'll review what was possible to occur with a lot of
help from God and some help from wind and weather at a certain
underwater ridge at the northern end of the Gulf of Suez.
Napoleon crossed
the Red Sea on Dry Land --PART WAY! |
Napoleon Bonaparte, in his
conquests in the name of, and for the glory of, --France-- was told by
the locals in the northern Gulf of Suez area about an underwater ridge
that reached almost to the surface and was underwater even when the
tide was out. But, they said, in a really strong wind, a 67 MPH
or stronger east wind, the whole ridge was exposed, and anyone, even a
great number of people, as the Israelites were presumed to be, could
walk across. Napoleon decided to try it, on his horse! The
wind stopped blowing while he was out in the middle, and his men came
out and rescued him in a rowboat. "Another sermon would have been
preached if I had drowned!" quipped Napoleon. |
 |

Now
let's watch again Cecil B. DeMille's Hollywood movie version of
how come Israel got to be in this position with a man called Moses
leading them! |
 |
The movie sticks pretty
close to the Bible plot. Baby Moses rides in a basket in the
Nile and is adopted by Pharaoh's daughter, and is part of his family. |
 |
Returning from
exile in the wilderness, Moses, upper left, demands his Pharaoh "brother"
let his enslaved real relatives go. When refused, he sends his real
brother Aaron, upper right, out to the Nile river with his staff to
miraculously turn the Nile river into blood. 9 plagues later on the
night of the "Passover" Moses' adoptive sibling, the proud Pharaoh
relents, as he stands by his dead son, and Israel marches through the
gates and into tomorrow. But Pharaoh has second thoughts and follows
them across the wilderness with his chariots. Israel is crossing the
sea, thought to be the Gulf of Suez in Cecil B. DeMille's time, on dry
land, but the
soldiers pursue them, ignoring the mountainous waves on both sides.

Galloping along in
their chariots, trying to catch up with the slowly moving Israelites as
the last of them get up on level shore out of harm's way, the soldiers of
Pharaoh don't quite catch up before the waves come crashing back.

Exodus
14:23 "And the Egyptians pursued, and went after them to the midst of
the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on
their right hand, and on their left."
24
"And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto
the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud,
and troubled the host of the Egyptians, ---"
25 "And
took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that
the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord
fighteth for them against the Egyptians."
26 "And the
Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the
waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and
upon their horsemen."
27 "And
Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to
his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against
it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea."
28 "And the
waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all
the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained
not so much as one of them."
We need to be more Critical of both these Crossing Stories,
both of the crossing of the Sinai Desert,
and also of the crossing of the Gulf of Suez, and now possibly another
crossing of the Gulf of Aquaba at Nuweiba, which may indeed have
happened, but not in a wind-storm as is described in the Bible story
in Exodus.
By
doing so, we'll be doing those world religions based on the assumption
that all these stories are accurate and true as reported in the Bible,
a great FAVOR, and allow more people to believe what really happened
who can't now believe
because the stories aren't told right!
And that will be my GOAL for this
series of Web Pages! |

When I helped Ron Wyatt and Randy Osborne dig for the
Ark of the Covenant in October of 1989,
Ron wouldn't tell me where to go to dive and look for the
Golden Chariot Wheels of Pharaoh's
chariot, but I did know enough from watching his former videos that once I
found a marble column standing by the Gulf of Aquaba I was at the right
place. So I learned to scuba dive and looked for and found Nuweiba in
Egypt. |
|

Nuweiba,
located half way down the eastern shore of the Gulf of Aquaba is also the
only break in a mountainous ridge that prevents easy access to the desert
interior of the Sinai Desert between the Gulf of Aquaba and Egypt.
If, indeed, the Israelites fled directly across the desert straight
westward with the Egyptian charioteers in pursuit, the situation described
in Exodus 14:3 would have been literally
the case.
Exodus 14:3 "For Pharaoh will say of the
children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath
shut them in."
 |
Seeing
a marble pillar lying in the sand of the desert not far from the shore
of the Gulf of Aquaba on one of his earliest visits to Nuweiba, Ron
Wyatt said that he talked the local authorities (Israeli at that time)
to erect it as a marker. Then he began saying that King Solomon
had originally made this marble pillar to mark where Israel had
crossed the Red Sea in the Exodus crossing. It was, said Wyatt,
the "Migdol" of Exodus 14:2.
Exodus 14:3 "Speak unto the children of
Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-ha-hi-roth, between
Migdol and the sea, over against Baal-zephon:
before it shall ye encamp by the sea." |
Having arranged to
have this marble pillar set up by the authorities to where he assumed it
was located in the time of Solomon (or perhaps even long before) Ron Wyatt
decided he needed to find a way to get to the farther shore on the Saudi
side of the Gulf of Aquaba. If he had been Muslim, or had
connections with the Saudi royal family, that would have been easy enough.
A ferry boat crosses back and forth here daily. But Ron considered
his research to be secret, and indeed, only a relatively few considered at
that time that there was even the slightest possibility that Israel
crossed here or spent any of their wilderness wanderings in Arabia.
But Ron discovered from diving here, and from examining topographical maps
of the under- water configuration that there was a "land bridge"
underwater here quite similar (but much deeper underwater) here than
Napoleon had tried to cross while a strong wind was blowing at the proper
area of the northern Gulf of Suez.

To be able to prove
that here is where Israel actually escaped Pharaoh's army with 600
chariots, Ron thought that he must find at least the remains of one or
several chariot wheels or chariots underwater here at Nuweiba, but
it would go far in his mind to establish this as the crossing point if he
could find another marble pillar on the other side in Saudia Arabia.
As he tells the story, he went part way in a row boat and the rest of the
way underwater in his scuba suit, and saw
the place where the other pillar had once been located, but was now
removed. He was then arrested by the Saudis and only got back
to Egypt with great difficulty.

According to the
Bible Exodus version of the "crossing", God moved his pillar of smoke and
fire between the Egyptians and fleeing Israelites until they were safely
passed over and out of the easy reach of Pharaoh and his army. This
would have been true at Nuwieba even if they crossed in boats (perhaps
more likely given the extreme depth here even where the "land bridge" is
located. Alternately, erosion and large-scale land sinking here might have
made it much deeper now than it was then.
Exodus
14:19 "And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed
and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their
face, and stood behind them:--"
20 "And it came
between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a
cloud and darkness unto them, but it gave light by night to these: so that
the one came not near the other all the night."
One can see the same type of redaction
here, the melding of two different stories to appear as one, that critical
scholars have found in the Noah's Flood stories -- the STORM described in
verse 21 NEED NOT have been occuring at Nuweiba while Israel was crossing
here, perhaps in a number of boats, rowed back and forth repeatedly while
the Egyptians were blinded by a dust-storm, tornado, or fog so thick they
could not operate militarily.

21 "And Moses stretched out his hand over
the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all
that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided."
Now I, when I reached Nuweiba in 1990 or 1991 couldn't get a visa to
visit Saudia Arabia, so had to be content with exploring the Nuweiba
end of the Sinia route I had explored the other end of with the
Bedouin 4-wheel drive vehicle.
The trip I have described on another page in which I was cooked
unleavened bread on a campfire. |
 |

There were lots of folks at Nuweiba willing
to take tourists such as myself for as many hours or days as we wanted
to go out into the wilderness through the "door" in the mountain
"wall" that prevented a large army from coming through there easily
(Pharaoh's army?) but allowed single file or even two lanes of cars
and trucks, and camel caravans, to pass easily. I opted on a small
tourist bus loaded with vacationers dressed in shorts and t-shirts. |
 |
 |
Here's a satellite view of the entryway to the Sinai Desert I went
through at Nuweiba, and below another satellite view of where Israel
crossed according to Ron Wyatt. |

Pharaoh's Chariot Wheels? Maybe!
Ron Wyatt had the practice
early in his career of using whatever he had been able to find and
photograph in lectures and in video presentations as the real thing
which later under more critical exam by other adventurers following
his lead were unable to verify or duplicate. This "golden
chariot wheel" photographed by Ron underwater at Nuwieba may be
nothing more than an old RR wheel! Some think so. |
 |
 |
I was convinced from the
earliest videos of Ron Wyatt's adventures that he had indeed, among
all the other things he had found, found one or more chariot wheels
from Pharaoh's own chariot when Pharaoh led 600 chariots in pursuit of
the fleeing children of Israel. That this would be like
winning the powerball LOTTO I now realize, but didn't then. All
that was needed was the ability to scuba-dive, and time, and money.
And of course, God's blessing on the project. Ron had
proved that last requirement, so in 1990 I got certified for
underwater diving. |
 |
Like so many others who have
tried to find what Ron Wyatt was preaching he had found on that beach
beneath the waves, I found lots of underwater junk of all sorts,
covered with sea-weed and coral, but no genuinely old items of any
real historic value. |
 |
At the Bottom of the Sea with Jonah!

 |
As a lot of people were
doing in Eastern North Carolina in 1990 who wished to become certified
for deep-water scuba diving, I did most of my training in a swimming
pool, then the class went all together to a small town in Florida
where we took our final test down to 100 feet deep in a freshwater
spring that was that deep. Two important rules, never dive alone
and come back up slowly with plenty of air in your tank. Besides
knowing how to swim a long time, of course. |
As a divorced Emergency Room
doctor with all the work I wanted, I had enough money for this "Golden
Chariot Wheel Project" to pay the mayor of the town I took my diving
test to come with me to the Red Sea. We had with us an electric
battery driven "scooter" to pull one diver along under the water as on
the right. |
 |
 |
The Florida mayor and I had
the time of our life diving just south of Nuweiba with an Egyptian
guide -- avoiding Lion-fish (left) and sharks (right), sleeping and
camping in the desert, and eating fish which the guide caught. |
 |

We learned
right away from experience that it was exactly as the topographical map
showed, that once we were perhaps a mile south of Nuweiba, after just a
few feet from shore, a precipitous drop-off occurred, and one could drop
hundreds of feet and see really deep-water fish -- like this one, of which
I saw several, as big as cows. Not as big as a whale, of
course, but the same general idea. These fish eat only plankton and
very small fish and were not interested in me, unless I could be persuaded
to scratch their belly.
Our Sad Attempt to find Those Wheels!
The Florida mayor and I went back to the
shallow area right next to the marble pillar Ron Wyatt showed in
his videos, which we discovered was off limits to divers because
the ferry boat passed over it. We waited until no one was
watching then went way out where we were not supposed to go.
We couldn't surface there or we'd be caught and perhaps arrested.
I was on the scooter. |
 |
|
NEAR DISASTER!
The adrenaline
was pumping through my blood-stream as I sped along holding on to the
electric scooter under water. After discovering no more in this
restricted area than there had been along the more accessible beach, I had to get back to the shore
underwater so as not to be seen by a large number of men at the ferry
terminal and of course the officials who could arrest me for being in
an unauthoriz-ed area. My air was technically all gone, and I
couldn't stay under much longer. I had broken all the cardinal
safety rules for scuba divers. I was all alone under the water
with no compressed air. Time seemed to stand still.
Miraculously, it seemed, I could still breath. Then I beached on
the shore with my scooter out of sight under the trees, and pulled off
my mask, gasping for air, and ready to listen to the tongue-lashing I
knew I deserved from the man I had brought with me from Florida to
make sure that nothing like this could happen to me.

Another
Jonah - in 1991
It was
not until 1998, seven or eight years after this experience at Nuweiba
that I learned to do and interpret the ELS Bible codes. One day,
on a whim, I decided to look for my own name in ELS in the Book of
Jonah in the Old Testament. And indeed I found it, multiple
times, seeded through Jonah's prayer to God to preserve his life while
lying on the bottom of the sea IN THE BELLY OF A WHALE.
Apparently God had had his hand in my being VOMITED OUT safely on the
land unhurt also. I'd already imagined that to be so -- but it's
nice to have HARD COPY!

To CONTINUE to find out what Ron Wyatt and
David Fasold found when they later continued on past the pillar on the
Arabian side of the Gulf of Aquaba, and how David Fasold saved the
route to the real "Mountain of the Laws" (Jebel el Lawz) in Saudia
Arabia ---

Not
having nearly enough material to "flesh out" either the story of
Joseph or of Moses' God he met in the desert (who called himself I
AM), the Hebrew "Redactors" discovered the story of
Imhotep,
and, perhaps reading Mary
Nell Wyatt's Egyptian inscriptions both in the desert near the Nile,
and at Saqquara, they used the I AM name, the 7 year famine, and
Imhotep's skill as a physician and "Wise Man" to supply a great amount
of material for the TORAH!
