I started to continue this story as it is usually continued by blind ministers and priests to non-hearing listeners, all bowing, of course, to the sound of the usual music played by the usual instruments to the beat of the usual drums. Then I realized we have read and told it all wrong! |

DIFFERENT IMAGE -- ALL OF GOLD! BUT THE SAME MESSAGE AND THE SAME GOD, AFTER ALL! THE GOLDEN TRINITY! |

Seventh-day Adventists long ago adopted Protestantism as their "label" and the Book of Daniel as their book. Daniel 2 was "their" promise that God would destroy Pagan gods and allow Adventists to preach the laws of the True God and sing the new song of His Testimonies. But we failed to see the true story written here between the last few verses of Daniel 2 and the time when those pesky three Hebrews stayed standing when everyone else fell down and worshipped. We stumbled and resisted for a moment, then fell into line. We joined the crowd of universal gold-god worshippers!
WHAT WE'RE NOT SEEING, NOT HEARING, AND NOT COMPREHENDING! A logical person giving their full attention to Daniel chapter 2 would be asking the following questions Adventists have never asked, and having never asked, have failed to get the real questions answered! WHY IS NEBUCHADNEZZAR HAPPY WITH DANIEL'S PREDICTION? WHY DID HE REWARD DANIEL SO HANDSOMELY AND MAKE HIM RULER OF HIS KINGDOM, GIVING CUSHY JOBS ALSO TO HIS THREE FRIENDS! AND WHAT DID HE DO LATER THAT SHOWED HE REALLY WAS LISTENING TO DANIEL AFTER ALL! ANSWERS: He heard clearly Daniel 2:38 "--wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold." Nebuchadnezzar didn't care about the next sentence --"After thee" -- doesn't matter! It may never come! Indeed it hasn't come as yet as I'm writing this. THE EGYPTIAN TRINITY WHICH IS IDENTICAL TO THE BABYLONIAN RELIGION IS STILL THE GOD OF THE WHOLE WORLD, CATHOLICISM, AND YES, ADVENTISM!
BUT THE SHOCK WILL COME SOME DAY WHEN SOMEBODY SAYS - NO! In Daniel 3, it occurs in VERSE 18 |
Mark 4:9 "And he said unto them, He that hath
ears to hear, let him hear. 11 "And he said unto them, Unto you,
Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto
that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That
seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not
understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins
should be forgiven them."

Daniel 3:18 "But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we WILL NOT SERVE THY GODS, nor worship the GOLDEN IMAGE that thou hast set up." |

Daniel chapter 3 Thinking perhaps that by constructing an image entirely of gold, that his kingdom would endure forever, not just for a relatively short time, as Daniel had interpreted the "head of god" to mean, the king ordered such an image, all of gold, to be built. When completed everyone was commanded to bow down to this image at the sound of musical instruments as a signal. Three did not bow -- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (Daniel was again away somewhere on the king's business) The three Hebrews were thrown into a burning fiery furnace prepared for those who failed to bow. However, God protected them from the fire, and another person who appeared like the "Son of God" joined them in the furnace.
