Matthew 24: Page 11

  March, 33 AD

     Jesus, (Yeshua the son of Mary) has already mentioned in his discussion with his Jewish Essene disciples about the "End Times" in view of the Jewish temple, not only that it will be destroyed, but that "There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." Matthew 24:2.  By verse 21 he has predicted a "Great Tribulation" "such as was not  since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."

     I have tried to show with these web pages that Jesus was showing his foreknowledge of the Jewish Holocaust, in which six million Jews were slaughtered, and of two World Wars in which more than twice that number of Christians also died.  

       He shows that he also is worried about Adolf Hitler's "Final Solution" (extermination of all the Jews on earth) with verse 22: "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

    If Jesus knew this much about the Holocaust and the two World Wars, then we would suspect he would also know about the Atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki that brought the second World War to a close.  Indeed he did know about these bombs, and described them in Matthew 24 in language that could be understood by his hearers.    But, understandably he did not call them "Atomic bombs" nor tell his first-century hearers how they worked, and he credited their existence to God.  Indeed, in Isaiah 66, this event had been called "The VOICE of GOD.   A description he, Jesus, had also used in his prophetic visions and dreams to Ellen G. White about 100 years before the Atomic Bombs were detonated.

"A VOICE of noise from the city, a VOICE from the temple, a VOICE of the LORD that rendereth recompense to his enemies."

      EARLY WRITINGS page 34 "Dark, heavy clouds came up (two World wars), and clashed against each (the "Allies" against the "Axis").  But there was one clear place of settled glory (the Pacific Ocean), whence came the Voice of God like many waters, which shook the heavens and the earth.  The sky opened and shut, and was in commotion (the air battles of World War II over the Pacific Ocean). The mountains (Iwo Jima, etc) shook like a reed in the wind, and cast out ragged rocks all around (shells and missiles).   The sea boiled like a pot, and cast out stones upon the land (destroyers and battleships shelling the Pacific islands).  And as God spake the day and the hour of Jesus' coming (to prevent the extermination of the Jews), and delivered the everlasting covenant to His people (the Jews), He spoke one sentence, and then paused (two bombs, not just one) while the words (plural) were rolling through the earth." etc, etc."

JESUS IN MATT. 24

  VERSE  27 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east (in this case the USA) and shineth unto the west (in this case Japan); so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. "

Verse 28 "For wheresoever the carcase(s) is (are) there will the eagles (airplanes, "Flying Fortresses") be gathered."

      Verse 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened (in comparison with the atomic explosions) ,---"  In appearance there were two suns on those days when atomic bombs were exploded, and indeed the atomic bombs appeared brighter than the sun!

 "--and the moon shall not give her light,---"  Jesus here continues with a logical sequence -- the next event of major significance being the "moon walk" by American astronauts-- wherever they cast their shadows, the moon could not give its light -- this because it is a reflected light, reflected from the sun.

"--and the stars shall fall from heaven, ---" Once we have correctly interpreted the symbolism of the sun (Atomic bomb), and the moon (Moon-walk) then the stars should be easy -- The stars are the intercontinental ballistic missiles, poised over our collective heads, that can fall on us at any time raining fire from heaven on all our major cities!

"---and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken." Here we switch from the literal and scientific to the symbolic and astrological, which Jesus as an Essene astrologer feels free to do at any time without warning because this is, after all, his book, and his age, and his world ---

Pisces is to be shaken out, and Aquarius is to be placed early in the place of "Pisces" --- in 1948 instead of 2000 AD, when the changeover was originally scheduled to be made by the Essenes in the Millennial Week Prophecy.

THE SIGN OF THE

SON OF MAN

Matthew 24:30 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

     This is a combination of two meanings, literal and symbolic, and two types of interpretation, literal and astrological, and can only be now analyzed and separated because the events described are in the past, and we have both Isaiah 66 and Ellen White's visions to compare Matthew 24:30 with.   And we also know, do the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, that the Essenes were astrologers.

    The "Sign" of the "Son of man" is not literally the "Son of man", but something else that stands in for the "Son of man" in this case, the atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.    The tribes of the earth mourn, because ordinary weapons and defenses will no longer protect them.  Wherever on earth they live, someone with nuclear bombs, and first aircraft then latter intercontinental ballistic missiles can kill them.   The last phrase is true literally because anyone can view the constellation Aquarius in the night sky, whether or not the Age of Aquarius has actually begun.   Jesus is here declaring that, as of the date of the detonation of the first Atomic bomb at Hiroshima (and yes, we now do know the date and the hour) the Age of Aquarius has now become.   And symbolically if not literally we have since then been living in the Age of Aquarius.  The power is that of Atomic energy.  The glory is that of the theology connected with Aquarius.
