The PRECEDENT for my taking the time and trouble to document what I have known to be true ever since my childhood is, of course, that the Roman Catholic Church has indeed declared their Popes' INFALLIBILITY, and to compete successfully in the world of religious POWER and PRESTIGE, the SDA Church must do likewise, or deny their real LEADER, Jesus Christ --- OUR HIGH PRIEST!

     "We teach and define that it is a dogma Divinely revealed that the Roman pontiff when he speaks ex cathedra, that is when in discharge of the office of pastor and doctor of all Christians, by virtue of his supreme Apostolic authority, he defines a doctrine regarding faith or morals to be held by the universal Church, by the Divine assistance promised to him in Blessed Peter, is possessed of that infallibility with which the Divine Redeemer willed that his Church should be endowed in defining doctrine regarding faith or morals, and that therefore such definitions of the Roman pontiff are of themselves and not from the consent of the Church irreformable.

     "WE, the GENERAL CONFERENCE of Seventh-day Adventists, and our official spokesperson, the current General Conference President, as well as all those ministers and laypersons entitled to have opinions about FAITH and MORALS do hereby allege and confirm our de facto policy, long-standing and unlikely to be changed in the near future, of considering certain ideas and beliefs promoted by our EARLY ADVENTIST PIONEERS to be INFALLIBLE.   One of the major conditions for these ideas and beliefs to reach this category of being INFALLIBLE has been that ELLEN G. WHITE, our PROPHETESS has had VISIONS and DREAMS supporting these particular ideas and beliefs specifically and in rather complete detail.   Whether or not the Popes of the Roman Catholic church can and do speak EX CATHEDRA some of us might indeed contest, but we can and do affirm that ELLEN WHITE did indeed do so.  Most of these Popes had few or no visions and dreams, and some were responsible for supporting in one way or another GENOCIDE at various times in history, including the most famous GENOCIDE attempt of all, the JEWISH HOLOCAUST.   Furthermore, we see no compelling evidence that whatever permission the Apostle Peter received from Jesus to CHANGE DOCTRINES or present NEW DOCTRINES did not apply equally to all Christian church leaders, not just to Roman Catholic church leaders.   Equally certain to us is that Jesus Christ, supposing Him to be alive and still powerful, does indeed have the right and the power to speak through ELLEN WHITE if He chooses to do so, and ANYONE ELSE He chooses to speak through.

    On the subject of ANATHAMA, we who are in charge of what we consider to be God's "REMNANT CHURCH" do indeed practice a type of "ANATHAMA", but understand that we must be a bit careful about who and what we so CURSE, in case God and Jesus choose to speak further to us, as he chose to do through our prophetess, Ellen G. White.
