Pastor Charles Wheeling's "Holy Grail"
I have been listening to Pastor Charles Wheeling give his seminars for over 20 years as I write this. A long time ago he was a licensed Seventh-day Adventist preacher, but strayed a bit from the long-held Adventist interpretations of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, and started giving more modern interpretations of Daniel's beasts and the beasts of Revelation chapter 13. The Adventists at his local home church tried him in absentia and excommunicated him, perhaps for some other reason not obvious to me or others. Back in the 1980s Pastor Wheeling became interested, as all of us were at that time, with the struggle between Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran and Saddam Hussein of Iraq, seeing Iran as the Ram of Daniel 8 riding again, soon to be skewered by another He-Goat, perhaps the UN with the Pope as the "Little Horn".
Several seminars later, Great Britain was the Lion of Daniel 7, aided by the Eagles' wings of the United States. The Bear was the Russian bear, and the Leopard was the United Nations, soon to be overcome by the Terrible beast of Popery with the Pope himself as the "Little Horn". Lately it's back to the Ram and the He-goat again as Iran again threatens the world with a nuclear Armageddon.
Daniel 12:11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 "Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. Daniel's numbers, such as those above, and various manipulations of the 2300 days, or 2300 "evenings and mornings", kept Pastor Wheeling occupied for many of his seminars, but for the last few years he has mostly been looking for one particular prophecy of Ellen G. White to be fulfilled. A prophecy that Pastor Wheeling interprets as meaning that Sister White saw events in Daniel fulfilled so accurately and obviously it would be like "reading Daniel in your morning newspaper" or words to that effect. I have not found this particular quotation of Ellen White's but I did recently find another quotation perhaps even more specific for my present prophecy for 2012, because it refers to a person, another "prophet" as it were, that would find and promote something of major importance from the Book of Daniel. It's found in Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers Page 116.

During the last two weeks, now in November, 2011, I have been carefully reviewing Daniel to update and renovate my website, and discovered the interpretation of Daniel 12:10 that I have provided my readers above. Looking at this interpretation from the now long-dead Ellen White's perspective, I believe it qualifies, and called up Pastor Charles Wheeling today, December 3, 2011, and explained it to him. He has become in recent years a promoter of "Righteousness by Faith" of the time-honored type since 1888 as promoted by Waggoner and Jones, and doesn't like to hear Jesus "trash-talked" any more than any other modern Christian does, but Pastor Charles is a bit more open to Jewish "midrash" than some others, so I think he might just give it more than an automatic denial. Popularity with one's supporters, the ones who pay the bills, is always a factor in a ministry as large as Inspiration Books East (IBE).
As I told Pastor Charles Wheeling, it's water long under the bridge, but it's interesting to contemplate Ellen White in her first vision exactly duplicating the sequence and the message of Daniel 12:10, and indeed the historical course of the Seventh-day Adventist church as they went forth from being a "works oriented" church with a Semi-Arian "Christology" to a Fundamentalist Trinitarian church like those Ellen White called "nominal Christians", the "wicked world", and "daughters of the Harlot Babylon" before 1888. By the 1950s the changeover was complete except for 7th Day Sabbath-keeping and the church's unusual emphasis on "Health Reform" and church school education.
Once we understand that Daniel 12 represents the 7 millenniums in correct sequence, then we should look closely for a representation of the "Second Coming" in verse 13 -- and find instead a "Judgment" of everyone, both wicked and righteous. Daniel 12:13 "But go thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the END OF THE DAYS." |
