The Letter to Ephesus

    

  "At first, John of Zebedee came with Jesus to the island of Patmos, off the coast of Asia Minor.  There he wrote the first part of the book of Revelation, with letters to the seven churches of the province of Asia, conveying the will of Jesus concerning the different problems, moral and doctrinal, that were besetting them. The letter to Ephesus seems like a logical first choice, being quite close to the Isle of Patmos, and in those days, having a harbor.
      Any modern tour of the sites of the 7 churches of Revelation in modern Turkey of course includes Ephesus, whose ruins are well-preserved.  The ancient amphitheatre, shown in this picture, is still used for theatre productions.   Not far away are  the ruins of the ancient city, and perhaps a mile or so further inland the modern city of Selkurk. Bus tours to tourist destinations all over Turkey begin here in air-conditioned buses whose prices are very competitive because the average Turkish citizens provide the greater amount of passengers, and these are not rich people.  When I visited Ephesus in 1990, I took a day trip from here to Pammakale, the warm springs next to the site of the ancient Laodicea, starting early in the morning and returning late that evening to my hotel in Selcurk. 
     Dr. Barbara Thiering PhD attributes the writing of the letters to the seven churches to a person named Aquila in the book of Acts and called John of Zebedee in the four gospels.   This John was NOT the author of the Gospel of John as most non-scholarly Christian readers presume. For more on this subject read my page entitlred "Authors".  In this series the NUMEROLOGY and ASTROLOGY in these letters is much more important than the local information provided.

EPHESUS

     Revelation 2:1 "Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and I know how thou canst not bear them that are evil: and thou hast tried them who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.'

    4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

    5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works: or else I will come quickly, and will remove  thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

     6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicoliatanes, which I also hate.

    7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; to him that overcometh  will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."

       Ignoring now a major portion of this "letter" which has nothing to do with the MILLENNIAL WEEK PROPHECY, I have marked here the parts relating to ADAM and the GARDEN of EDEN, where Adam was the first SOWER of Matthew 13.  The letter starts with ASTROLOGY (the Essenes were Astrologers, and Jesus was very adept at Astrology).  The "seven stars" is the constellation of the SEVEN SISTERS, which are pictured as a ring in the nose of TAURUS the BULL.   Adam was created in the Age of Taurus the Bull, thus the first millennial day -- 4000 BC to 3000 BC is indicated here.  The "first love" of Adam and Eve was for God, their Creator, but they fell.   Here "thou art fallen". The last things mentioned (verse 7) are the "Tree of Life" and the "Paradise of God" another name for the "Garden of Eden".

Having now found what we need in the "Letter to the Church at Ephesus" to link it to the Garden of Eden, we can begin our MILLENNIAL "first day" -- and predict that we can do the same thing with the letters to the other churches, one after the other, and make some sort of sense out of these otherwise quite confusing letters!
